Although South Africa has moved down to level one lockdown restrictions, there is still the concern of another spike in infections as we see the numbers rising again. We should all therefore still be wearing our masks on a daily basis as now, more than ever, it is important to wear a mask and sanitize.
But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be stylish and trendy in the process. Here are a few tips to comfortably wear earrings with your mask.
In case you need tostock up on sanitizer orbuy new masks, you can do so at our online shop.
There are certain jewellery pieces that are more mask-friendly than others. Plain gold, silver, stainless steel or diamond studs are an easy bet. These earrings are close to your ear and don’t leave much space for the elastics to get hooked.
Although studs are easier to manage, that doesn’t mean that you need to give up on more decorative accessories. Try to let your earrings dangle outside of the straps and compare it to the feeling of them inside your mask. Whichever is more comfortable - go that route.
Another great choice is the ever-reliable infinite hoop. These stylish earrings are an endless circle and therefore more secure than other large earrings. Be careful of very large hoops that are not full circles. These are the riskiest earrings and leave a lot of space to get caught.
If you really want to show off a fancy pair of earrings but are nervous about them getting caught, then you can save them for zoom meetings and virtual events when you don’t need to wear a mask.
No matter how much you love to accessorise, it’s important to note that your mask is not an earring. So, rather than let your mask strap dangle from your ear, make sure that you place it firmly on your face.
