Thank you for buying your Mzansi Mask - we’re so happy to welcome you to the Mzansi Mask family! To help you best take care of your mask, we’ve put together this short little video on how to wear your mask, how to care for your mask, and how to share the love.

We believe that if each South African does their bit to help control the spread of this infection, we will be able to help protect the most vulnerable in our society and save lives. Wearing a mask when out in public is one way each of us can contribute and help others.

Mzansi Masks are the original, handmade barrier masks.

Made up of three layers, our masks have an inner lining which is 100% polyester fibre and designed to keep your face dry and comfortable - without compromising your breathing.

The second layer is a filter layer which serves as an added layer of protection against outside moisture.

And the third layer is a decorative layer that both showcases your personality and helps keep outside moisture outside.

Wearing Your Mzansi Mask

Once you’ve received your mask, you can venture out confidently. The side elastics ensure a comfortable fit, while the expertly designed pattern rests easily on your face.

Make sure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth for added protection.

Washing Your Mzansi Mask

Our Mzansi Masks are re-usable, and you should safely get about 10 - 15 wears out of them. With this in mind, it’s important to wash your masks after each use.

  • Treat your masks gently, although they serve as a fantastic barrier, they still need to be handled with care
  • The materials are chosen because of their protective properties and need to be washed in cold water.
  • Don’t use any fabric softener, bleach, or a commercial washing powder that contains bleach.
  • Instead, give your mask a cool, gentle wash in the washing machine and hung it up in the sunshine to dry.

If you look after your Mzansi Mask, your Mzansi Mask will take care of you.
