Our materials

The grow bags are sewn together with a synthetic material that is extremely durable, has a long service life and is 100% recycled.

The construction of the bags and the textiles used allows for soil strengthening, stabilization and helping to drain excess water. As a long-lasting fabric, our grow bags are able to last many years and can be used many times for many purposes.

This fabric is also anti-mould, anti-bacterial and non-tear.

How will your plants benefit?

As the saying goes, our grow bags are ‘not just a pretty face’! They benefit your plant growing process in a number of ways. For example:

  • The breathable material allows healthier plants to grow
  • Gardening is made easier thanks to root development
  • Soil condition is improved
  • They prevent the twisting of bottom roots
  • Increased nutrient absorption creates bigger vegetables, fruits and herbs

The stunning grow bags can be used repeatedly, are dishwasher friendly and have a special unique and beautiful South African material shweshwe as a feature trim. The grow bags are not harmful to the planet or people. Whether you use it at home, on the balcony or in the garden, know that each pot is handmade with love.

Recommendations  for use

Each grow bag’s soil is selected according to the needs of the plant. Soil is poured directly into the grow bag and thoroughly pressed against the walls, especially on the corners. By focusing on the corners at the bottom, you can avoid empty spaces between the grow bag and the ground.

From there it's all up to you, so here are few things to keep in mind:

  • Water the plants slowly, starting from the middle and stop watering when the soil is soaking on the material.
  • Water more often but in smaller quantities.
  • Using a soft brush and dishwashing liquid, rinse the grow bag before putting it directly in the dishwasher (wash at 30 degrees). Yes, our grow bags are washable!
  • The grow bag can be ironed through a towel but never directly on the bag itself
  • If the grow bag is going to be in direct intense sun, use a fabric impregnant to protect the decorative shweshwe against the UV radiation. Otherwise you could allow for the shweshwe to naturally fade.
  • Although you don’t have to, soil mulching helps to keep the moisture for longer.

Our grow bags are both decorative and functional. Don’t worry if you don’t have green fingers, our pots will help add a little greenery to your home!
