If you’ve been following our pages, you’ll see that we’ve been documenting some of our happy customer experiences with a short story.

With the limited social interaction required by lockdown, we’ve all been connecting online, and we love to hear about what our customers have been up to.

We spoke to returning customer, Elmarie Ironside, from Plastem. Here, she shares about her personal journey during COVID-19 and how it has impacted her life.

How have you been coping with COVID-19 in a personal capacity?

It’s had its challenges not being able to see our family and close friends, but the time at home has given me the opportunity to start packing for our move to Cape Town at the end of June 2020.

How has work/business been affected by COVID-19 - is it business as usual?

We were very blessed that we fell under the essential service providers. So under Level 5 a small handful of staff was on standby to go into the office when needed and the rest of our staff were placed on paid leave.

Since Level 4 we are all back at work, except for two employees working from home.

What measures have you taken to ensure safety for yourself, your employees/colleagues, and your family?

At home it’s only my husband and I. When we have to go out we wear our Mzansi Masks and gloves. We sanitise every item when we’ve done shopping.

At work, we follow the government guidelines. We have sanitizing stations outside, employees and visitors have to wear masks and sanitise hands and all surfaces regularly.

We monitor our employee’s temperature each day before they enter the workplace. We have provided all our staff with masks and face shields.

How have you enjoyed your Mzansi Masks?

We LOVE our Mzansi Masks, excellent quality, and comfortable to wear.

What is the first thing that you will do once lockdown is over?

Go to my hairdresser :) And a walk on the beach.

Whether you like patterns or solids, neural tones, or bright colours, our Mzansi Masks will have you sorted.

We’ve been supplying locally made, reusable barrier masks since before lockdown started, and have made more than 2,200 deliveries across South Africa.

With the lockdown restrictions dropping to Level 3 next week, it’s important to be prepared. Shop for your Mzansi Masks here, and share the #MzansiMasks love.
